I cannot tell a lie. I wanted some brownies. Big time. I’m in love with brownies. But my kids were at school and I couldn’t justify making a whole batch of brownies just for myself–because, yes, I can eat them all myself. So I decided to make the brownies for us them.
I decided to get creative and add a little peanut butter mixed with powdered sugar to my brownie mix. It was yummy. And then I decided to turn my craving into a little after-school surprise for the them. It’s a super easy way to show you missed them (even if you really just wanted some brownies).
I set the pile of brownies on the table right as they came in. As we ate brownies together (yum), we used the conversation starters to talk about their day. Sometimes my kidlets are tired and not in the mood to talk, but this really helped make it fun.
Here’s what I did:
Hope your first day of school went well! Find a way to say “I love you” and enjoy some chocolate!
